History: Elderberries have a long history in natural medicine.

Why Elderberries? Elderberries have a high level of antioxidants. Research suggests that elderberries can boost the immune system, may help prevent cardiovascular disease, and may reduce blood sugar.
How do we use Elderberries? Elderberry can come in syrup, gummies, capsules, extract, or tea. You can also add these to smoothies or drinks.
How to take it? People take it daily for immunity, especially in the winter or when traveling. If you feel something coming on, you could take it a few times daily. Don’t overdo it too much; elderberry can lead to stomach upset.
Side notes: In its uncooked form, elderberries, the bark, and the leaves are poisonous. You always want to eat cooked elderberries. Elderberry extract is more potent than elderberry fruit. For example, 20mg of elderberry extract is as powerful as 300mg of fruit.
Dosage: Most studies show a dosage of 600 mg to 1500mg per day.
